Almost Missed My Exit
The Jeep in front of me was apparently not paying attention, so he ended up almost getting off the freeway and changing his mind at the last moment.

This afternoon There was a van who apparently wasn’t paying attention to his upcoming exit and had to cut right in front of me to reach it in time. From my other videos you can tell this isn’t exactly uncommon.
Interestingly, the very next exit there was a similar situation, but in reverse – a pickup getting on the freeway procrastinated merging with continuing traffic until he was nearly forced off in the exit-only lane.
Since this both deal with the same procrastination issue, I’ve merged them together.

While merging from I-215 to I-15 today, there was a minivan a few cars ahead of me with three large mattresses on top of it. The effect was rather comical. It also didn’t seem to know where it was going, as it got off the freeway in the wrong exit lane and narrowly missed clipping a few cars as it rushed to cross to the northbound exit instead of being trapped in the southbound lanes.

In front of me several cars there was suddenly a large puff of rubber smoke. This repeated again a few seconds later. An SUV ended up off the side of the road, but as I approached I couldn’t see any damage or broken tires, so the only conclusion I can come to is that the driver was near to missing her exit or had some kind of medical episode.

This morning I had just merged onto the freeway and was going faster than the cars in the second lane. As I was approaching an SUV near the exit to I-215, they realized that they really wanted to be on that offramp. I slowed suddenly, they hopped over a couple lanes, and just barely made their exit.

Right before the exit from I-215 south to I-80, a guy in a truck merged to the right lane apparently without checking for cars in the right lane. He noticed too late that there was a car there, and so started a back-and-forth as he decided which lane to stay in.

On the way back from work today, I drove past the I-215/I-80 interchange. At both the eastbound and westbound exits, two separate vehicles nearly missed their exits.
The first was a semi with a backhoe. The car behind him that properly made his exit had to slam on his breaks to let him in.
The other was an SUV that seemed to decide on the exit just in the nick of time.

While on my way to work this morning, I was in the far right lane. There was an SUV in the lane next to me. We were approaching the exit for the SLC airport, when he suddenly decided he had to get off there.
He immediately started changing lanes, and threw on his blinker about half way over. I was forced to slam on my brakes and swerve into the unoccupied exit-only lane to miss the back portion of his vehicle.

At the exact same spot where yesterday’s video happened, I watched yet another guy have issues with the exit. Apparently this guy missed the exit, but decided he urgently had to get off there anyway.
He went off the freeway into the shoulder, crossed over to the offramp, and waited there for an opening (this is when I drove past). After I passed him, I looked back, and he’d hoped across the Northbound I-15 ramp, over to the Southbound ramp that I was going on – a rather dangerous maneuver.

While approaching the I-15/I-215 interchange, I noticed that the guy in front of me was weaving back and forth in his lane a bit. As I got closer, I realized that he was focusing on a cell phone conversation, and only catching his drifting as he was about to cross over into the other lane.
As we got closer to the exit, he began to drift toward it, but not nearly fast enough to actually make the exit. He corrected in the nick of time, just as he was about to hit the exit sign.
