Near-Wreck Experience
Merging Issues
As I approached the 114th S exit on I-15 today, the light at the 106th exit had been green. Thus there were several cars entering the freeway all at the same time that me and the other cars around me were trying to exit.
One car in particular was rather impatient to move over, and nearly was sideswiped by the car he tried to go around as they merged onto the freeway a split second after he did.
Two Left Turns
In the long line of cars waiting on 13th East at the south end of the valley, one paused to let the waiting cars turn. Both decided to go at once and very nearly collided.
As a sidenote, I’m not sure why I suddenly ran across three video-worthy events after a few weeks of nothing, but that’s how it goes sometimes.
Close Left
At the intersection of 94th S and 7th E, an SUV narrowly missed being hit after not having enough room to turn.
Who’s lane is it anyway?
We have another submission from Duncan!
He reports:
“It’s not too easy to see but she was not looking forward when I had already stopped and she was in the lane, I was in two minds about reversing to get out of the way. Not an easy junction to pull that stunt and I believe there is a NO LEFT turn sign in that filling station, but I could be wrong.
This camera is a curse.”
The video can be found on youtube here.
Attentive Lane Changing
A brand new silver car was driving in front of me. As we came to the I-15/I-215 merge, the silver car tried to move over to the far right lane. However, during this time, an SUV merged from the right; occupying the same space that the silver car was trying to enter. Perhaps due to driving a new car, the silver car driver barely noticed the SUV in time.
